A Cornish new homes development was honoured with a prestigious national design award at the Housebuilder Awards.
Linden Homes’ Two Coves development in Duporth, which boasts direct access to Duporth beach, won the Best Design category at the annual awards ceremony.
Built on the site of the old Duporth Holiday Village in St Austell, Two Coves is a beautiful development of sensitively designed two to five bedroom properties surrounded by mature woodland. There are currently a range of three and four bedroom homes available from £244,950.
Bill Cawse, managing director for Linden Homes, said: “We are thrilled that Two Coves has been recognised for its exemplary design, especially against some tough competition.
“It’s a unique development and while its design has always been complimented locally, we’re absolutely delighted that it’s been praised nationally.”
The excellent design of this development and show home is reflected by consistently high levels of weekly visitors since the development was initially launched in October 2007.
The Clock Tower has been retained on the site, along with other historic buildings which immediately point to the development’s rich heritage. In addition, significant civil engineering challenges have been faced by Linden Homes, including the design for a 120 metre long micro tunnelled drainage outfall. A 140 metre long section of 375mm diameter pipe was transported by sea in a single length from Par docks and pulled up through the bored hole. The creation of Two Coves has certainly tested the technical team far in excess of the average new homes development!
